Reading this post I thought I'd share a tip I find rather useful if like me you have a lot of third-party plugins installed.

Like Raven, I put all my plugins in a folder called "Filters" in my Program Files directory and I also put all my plugins in separate folders except that I have created several categories folders that describe what the filters do (Photo, Blur, Colour, Alpha, Distorsion, etc.) and in those category folders I add the filter's folders. This way I may have a set a filters that do various things split into various categories. It comes very handy when I need a special effect and I don't have to load all filters. For those filters which are all inside one 8BF and cannot be put in different place, I do not assign a category. Hope it helps you to get organized.
I do the same for all my PSP ressources (tubes, patterns, gradients, etc.) and I have included the original PSP ressource as well. But make sure you put the right paths in the file preference location.
