Can you add text to animated gif's using PSP X without losing the animation? If so, how hard is it to do? Every time I try to do it, it only adds the text to the first layer and the animation stops. Or do I have to have another program like Animation Shop in order to do that?

Hi Nanson, Thanks for the welcome. I took a look at the tutorial that you posted but they are using PSP 7, I'm using PSP X. I think PSP 7 has Animation Shop with it but the way it looks PSP X does not have Animation Shop. So I'm guessing that I'll have to have Animation Shop before I can do what I want to do, is that correct?

If you have Animation Shop from an older version of PSP you could use that. I'm not sure if Corel has a trial version you could use.
Corel has started charging for Animation Shop, don't understand why because it hasn't been upgraded in a long, long time. You might want to do a Google search for a free animation program before you spend money on Animation Shop. Maybe you could pick up an old version of PSP with AS included on Ebay or something for next to nothing?  |

Hi, Tim, and welcome to the board.
 I guess as far as JASC and Corel felt/fell about A.S., it wasn't worth upgrading. Unfortunate. It hasn't been improved since it's initial release.  |
