Registered User Posts: 284 10/29/04 11:00	Tags : None Help Please got myself a big hard drive, installed it and decided to do a clean install of xppro now I have problems Does anyone know how to make XPPro accept older software I have two drawing pads (a Wacom PenPartner and a coolicam thing) and I can't get XP to recognize either, the message I get is " Not suitable for running MSDOS and WIN files" (think it has something to do with the subsystem 16 thing ) jean

Registered User Posts: 4560 10/30/04 1:50 SysOp	Right click on the programs Icon > Left Click on Properties Click on Compatibility Then, put a check in the Run This Program In The Compatibility For And then pick whatever OS it ran OK on... Hope that does it.

Posts: 779 11/04/04 3:37	If you are using a USB to serial adapter you may need a new version of the adapter software (same thing happend to me on my Palm 111xe). If not then you may try: "Otherwise it might help to reset the driver to defaults by deleting its preferences file wacom.dat located in the \system32 directory. Reboot your computer afterwards in order to make the changes become effective."...From a Wacom forum. From what I can find the tablet should run on XP in NTFS (NT File System). I did find someone who recommended the upgrade to SP2 for increased character recognition in writing applications. JimL
