I was wondering where you were. I guess you'll be busy once you get the new PC. Are you going to try Vista? From what I've read that's going to
be a headache for you too.

I'm so sorry Raven..........let us know if there is anything we can do when you get back......and as far as Vista.......I would pay extra to have that
taken off and XP installed I'm with Nanson, I know of people here that cant get their heads around the Vista........its strange, I've seen it work!
Good luck to you! Loves C |

I have learned to live with Vista.............it took a while before things finally began to penetrate my thick skull!!
If I took it off my computer, it would void the warranty and it seems that is all they want to sell you any more. |

Bob, my PSP7 works just fine on Vista--that is my main one--I also have 9, but still can't get used to it.

Well, I'm sure V has it's pros and cons, but if possible, my preference will be XP. Right now, I'm just a bit taken-a-back. Need to make my mind up
that this thing has to be done, and do it.........

As for Vista, if it's already pre-loaded on a new computer, it's much easier to get into. It's when someone tries to import their XP files and settings, when things get iffy. I have been running Vista for about 10 months, and have had little/no issues. I bought the upgrade and a new (larger) SATA hard drive. Had to first install a barebones XP from my original CD, then install Vista on top of that (choosing the clean install option), but otherwise it went smoothly. Like PCNovice said, it took some getting used to, finding some things and getting settings just the way I wanted them...but that really only took a month or so. If you do get Vista, I highly recommend a fantastic book "Windows Vista: The Missing Manual" by David Pogue. It (along with the XP versions) is an excellent reference book...really helped me to learn Vista a lot quicker. If you opt for getting an XP machine, at least it will be new and most likely Vista-ready, for whenever you feel ready to upgrade.

I lost everything on the PC, no way to get it back...Bummer. Can't afford to get another one yet, so I'm using my wifes. She doesn't want the tons
of stuff I use on her PC, and I couldn't run most of it even if she didn't mind...sooooo
