Hi, I'm new here on the forum and am hoping someone can help me with Paint Shop Pro 8. I know it's an older version, but hopefully someone's
familiar with it. Corel Support wont'help me because of the age of the program. For some reason, when I try to caption photos, the type tends to come out
in katakana. I can't find anything under settings or edit to change the text into english. I can't even get the full set of katakana - just 8 or 9
characters. Can anyone please help me? Thanks

Welcome to the forum JM........I'm pretty sure you will not find a setting in PSP......but I'll look, I run PSP8&9 and have never run into that problem......I'm thinking that its in Windows settings...... Nanson or Raven or one of the other members hopefully will have the answer for you! In the mean time I'll keep looking! I bet we learn something here! Loves C |

Which font are you trying to use? Does this happen on any font that you use? I don't have version 8 installed, but I'll see if I can find something to
help...
Another thought...what is the exact version that you have installed (8.0, 8.1, etc)? Is it possible that you might have installed the japanese version of one of the patches?

I never have either.....when you download your PSP programe its ask if you want English.....and I just assumed they all will ask....or as Bob suggested it
might be a crack programe.....and you dont have a choice!
Somewhere in your computer ,there is a place to change the language...but I'll be darn if I can find it! Loves C |

If by a "crack" version you mean I found a way to download it for free - no, it's not. I paid for this program in full. I tried going to the
Corel website for support, but was told that support is no longer offered for v8, as it is an outdated version. Specifically, it's v8.1. If I had
downloaded a Japanese patch wouldn't everything be in Japanese, not just the text I try to create? Thank you so much for your suggestions and assistance
