Ok, maybe I should approach it this way. How do I do text or change fonts when I want to put text on a project?

Okay, a couple of things. Try going to File>Preferences> Reset Preferences...see if that works
If that doesn't help try uninstalling and re installing but before you reinstall use the zap program to clean your registry. http://www0.jasc.com/pub/ZapJasc.exe

If I reset the preferences, then restart the program, should it begin installing?

No, it should restart normally and you have to redo your preferences.

Another thing, as Fallstar mentioned, did you download the patch for your version?

I don't believe so - I didn't know there was a patch. I've only used it for basic photo editing for a long time now because the tutorial that came
with the program was confusing - it doesn't fully explain how to do some of the things you have to do in order to follow the instructions you get. Is the
patch located on the Corel website? Thank you for the tutorial link, I'll check that out, as well.
The program did reinstall itself when I restarted it, by the way, but in the process I found that the font was indeed set to "WP Japanese" and changed it (I had to change the vector/raster layer, which is one of the many things I don't understand about this program) So in short, resetting the preferences worked, but I think I'll still have A LOT of questions, because I really would like to learn how to fully utilize this program. Thank you so much!!! |

Wait, if I have 8.1, then I think that means I did get the patch, right?

Maybe, or maybe not, I'll go check..Jasc sent out 2 versions of PSP 8 because the first had some major problems.
I'm glad you got the font problem straightened out..feel free to ask as many questions as you want, I still have version 8 installed as do Bob and Chey..

8.10 is what you should have so you're all set there.
Depending on what you want to learn, you might find the tutorials I wrote for PSP 8 helpful. I wrote them with beginners in mind so there's a lot of screen shots. http://www.nansons-place.com/psp/tutindex.htm
