Flaming Pear's Flood Filter - Not Working

Posts: 8 04/17/04 10:47	Tags : None Hi, Im having trouble getting the flood filter from Flaming Pear to work and wondered if anyone had any ideas. Here's the problem :- I can get the preview window open ok, the image is there and I can see what it will look like when I click ok, all the settings work fine, but when I hit the OK button, the preview window closes, and the filter is not applied to the image. No error messages are displayed. Simply nothing happens. Im using Windows XP which has all the latest updates installed. I have plenty of RAM (2.6gb), lots of spare hard drive (70 gig free). I've tried re installing the filter but still does not work. Tried deleting cache files. Does anyone have any ideas of what I could try next ?, ive emailed Flaming Pear, but they just sent me the filter again, and said re install. Which still does not work. Thank you for any help. Allan

Posts: 8 04/17/04 11:24	Hi there, Im using PSP version 8 (8.10) I deleted (I think) both PSP Cache and also the Flood ones. Both were in the folder :- Documents and settings/ allannicholson/ applicationdata/ jascsoftware I did wonder if there maybe a separate folder for the flood cache but I cant see it. There were files with the name "flood" etc in the above folder. Many thanks

Posts: 8 04/17/04 12:00	Many thanks, I tried deleting the files as you suggested, and rebooted computer. But still just the same im afraid. Yes, the filter has worked, although only periodicaly. I even tried a system restore to a date when I knew it was working fine, and even though the restore worked fine. The filter still doesnt work.

Registered User Posts: 5232 04/17/04 12:06 AWOL From Life	PSP 8 won't let you have 2 filters with the same name, is it possible you have another filter that is called Flood? I doubt that's the problem but I don't have any other ideas at the moment. Maybe now that you deleted the temp files you should try reinstalling Flood again??

Posts: 8 04/17/04 12:39	I tried re installing it again after deleting all the files. I also went through the windows registry and deleted a couple of settings i found relating to the filter. But still doesnt work im afraid. I dont have another filter called Flood, so thats not it either. I've just emailed FlamingPear again, so hopefully they may be more helpful this time. Many thanks for your ideas, I appreciate your help.

Registered User Posts: 4514 04/17/04 4:54 SysOp	Hi, Allan, and welcome to the Board. I don't have the plug-in, so I can't be of any help at all. Hope you get it worked out. I also run XP, and have never had any problems with any of the 3rd party plug-ins.

Posts: 8 04/18/04 7:37	Hi there, Thank you for the welcome. The filter problem, is a very odd one indeed. It does work periodicaly without any reason. Today it is working fine and I havent changed anything since yesterday when it didnt work. I must have re booted my machine 10-15 times yesterday, but it wouldnt work at all. Then today it works. When it doesnt work, i just have to save my images into a folder for when it starts working again. Crazy or what !!
