Hello Nanson.

I only know because I have deduced the meaning from what I have read about some programs' attributes.

It apparently means that the program will automatically add frames between (hence "tween") two existing ones. So you could start a movement sequence by drawing the first and last frames and have the program insert intermediate ones automatically.

AnimationShop's transitions and effects don't include it.


I've actually done what I wanted to do and "tweening"wasn't the solution, but I would still like to know if something similar can be acheived in AnimationShop.

What I manage to cobble together pales into insignificance compared with what other people have achieved. I've seen astonishing creativity in some examples.

The two animations above are what I set out to do, but I had to work on each frame individually, using AS only to combine them.

Basically I started with a drawing (in MS Paint) of five complete cycles. From this I cropped, in PSP, and made another one of four cycles. The drawing of four was the starting frame which I put into AS.

I then had to resize the width of the five cycle drawing about 30 times, reducing the width slightly each time.

I did a similar thing with the four cycle drawing, increasing the width.

I had to do the resizing in IrfanView - I can't remember why, but it wasn't satisfactory doing it in PSP.

Now, by starting with the four cycle drawing in AS and adding a wider drawing from either of the two sets of other drawings (all of which are wider) the width of the added frame is automatically cropped by AS to that of the starting frame.

Without cluttering up this posting with too much verbiage, the result is an added series of frames which produce the desired result.

A similar thing was done with the change in amplitude animation.

What are they? Diagrams in support of an explanation of tremolo and vibrato and their relations, a.m. and f.m., which I shall shortly add to my web site. I'll post a link here when it's finished.
