Does any one know how I can get my PC to recognize the new CD-RW....I didn't touch anything as far as jumpers etc to disconnect or reconnect and it comes up saying secondary drive not there, before windows even loads. somebody hep me!!! Peez!

Check the manual and see if they have a preferance as to if it should be set to master or slave with a jumper (usually in the back.). Also make sure all the wires are fully plugged in. Some can be difficult and check to see if you accidently turned the plug over the wrong way. They are supposed to only go in one way but with a little effort they will sometimes go in half way bottom side up.
Check Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device manager>Ide ATA Controlers and see if the DMA state for your CDRW is set per the manual recomendations. If everything else looks ok go into control panel and remove all cd drives from your system (just in the control panel) and reboot. It should find it and ask for the drivers. As was previously mentiond manufacturers should be a good resource for help. JimL |

Its an I/O Magic and no I haven't. But I'm wondering ...I don't see it listed in the add hardware wizard. In fact there isn't even a cd-rw in there, rom or anything.
