Chey, you use the smudge tool so successfully, but I end up with what I can only describe as rude, chunky, stutters, particularly when I try to
"play" with a gradient. I know the problem is the settings, and I'm hoping you could give me a general idea about what you use for hardness,
step, opacity, etc., to achieve the smooth blended effect always evident in your work.
So grateful I would be! Gini

I'd be glad to try and help Gini.........I cant give you exact setting......but lets say you are doing a super soft blend........try setting the hardness
at 45 and the opacity at 66......this will give you a softer blend but you must work harder to move the paint........in any case......I find that keeping the
hardness about half as low as the setting for the opacity gives you a smoother blend....... this will give you a rough place to start!
Let me know and Oh........keep your bursh size fairly large........this will also move the paint in a more blending way! Loves C PS.......I will garentee that somewhere down the PSP line you will use the Hard chunky lines that you are making now.......I love to do them on te lower Opacity elements of some of my "stuff" just to fill in or add interest!......LOL...nothing learned ever goes to waste in PSP........

Thank you, Chey! I think I tend to get impatient, so I use the higher settings to move everything faster - hence the unsatisfactory result! I'll try the
settings you suggest.

I have (at last) started using the smudge brush.I'm not very good with it yet,but I'm miles better than I was.
